John Wooden Quote of the Day

The Four6Three is going to honor John Wooden this month by doing a quote of the day.  This one is one of my favorites because it was said by my coach quite frequently. Rather than let you know what I think it means I will leave it to you.

"Be quick, but don't hurry."

We Will Miss You Coach

Few people deserve the title of Coach, but Coach John Wooden was certainly deserving.  Coach Wooden passed away this evening and the world is a little dimmer place without him.  Coach was 99 years old and he made the most of them.  As the coach for the UCLA Bruins he won 10 NCAA Championships and at one point won 7 consecutive titles.  Coach Wooden is not only one of the best coaches to ever walk up and down a court he is one of the greatest human beings to walk up and down the street.  Coach we know you were successful and we strive to be also.  Thanks Coach for the things you taught us and the way you lived.

"Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming." John Wooden

SUCCESS!

With the Olympics coming up there will be great achievements in winter sports, records broken, great performances, and medals won. Nevertheless, how will the Olympians know if their trip to Vancouver was successful? I think the incomparable John Wooden’s definition of success will provide a great point of reference. Coach Wooden is not only one of the best coaches to ever walk up and down a court he is one of the greatest human beings to walk up and down the street.
