New Testing Has Cheaters Running Scared

*

Yesterday, a small news story ran that made some Olympians, Professional Athletes, and Collegiate Athletes very nervous. Not all athletes have need worry, but those who have decided to use HGH now have reason to fear. A rugby player was banned for testing positive for HGH. Previously it was deemed impossible to drug test for HGH. This new blood test however changes everything.

Will this story serve as a warning shot over the bow of athletes or will more big names be defined as cheaters down the road. Many sports such as Major League Baseball will first have to okay blood testing. This is something that the players association has opposed for some time. What needs to happen is the players that are clean need to take a stand and demand blood testing, otherwise they will continue to be at a competitive disadvantage. A disadvantage in a professional sport equates to large amounts of money and even a job all together.

What will happen with this HGH test? No one really knows, but what needs to happen is to adopt it fast. Normally the performance enhancing drugs are one step ahead of the testing, but finally the testing has caught up. Delay in implementing these tests will only give the users the advantage one again.

*No HGH was used in the creation of this picture.  Okay, I admit that this picture is my arm don't be jealous.

It has been a while since the "glory days", when talent and talent alone spoke for itself. It would be nice to see again, although the leagues will all fight the blood testing because the super-freak super stars put butts in seats.
