This strikes the debate as to whether or not one bat vs another is going to provide a competitive edge in College Baseball. No other single piece of equipment in sports can be chosen specifically by the teams. You have Easton, Louisville Slugger, Nike, DeMarini as the main players in the College Baseball Bat provider battle. Personally I have used each brand and the main noted difference to me is how the weight is distributed: some are top heavy, while others more balanced. The weights and barrel size all have to fit the uniform standard as do the composites of materials used in the bat construction. (As a side not when teams decide to go with Nike, and Easton they usually are then provided with gloves by the companies but that is a matter to be investigated another day.)
