Musical Chairs in the NL East

I love the hidden story lines in baseball and the NL East could be shaping out to have some humdingers.  As my grandma has often said its not the music that makes the dance interesting but your square dance partner.

When the Marlins fired manager Fredi Gonzalez today it put into motion another round of musical chairs in the National League East.  Most chair swapping in the past few years has been pretty minor: Billy Wagner goes from the Mets to the Braves, Brian Schnieder goes from Mets to Phillies, Jeff Francoeur goes from Atlanta to New York in exchange for Mets Ryan Church, Manny Acta goes from Mets to Nationals and so on.  However things set in motion could start making this a musical chairs that might actually be interesting: for example Bobby Valentine (beloved former Met skipper) is being interviewed by the Marlins.  Newly fired Fredi Gonzalez is liked by the folks in Atlanta and could be the predecessor to Bobby Cox.  On a more impractical front Cliff Lee who's pitching propelled the Phillies to a World Series could be returning before the trade deadline to possibly the Mets.

Only time will tell if any of these situations will actually pan out but that doesn't stop us from thinking of some awesome situations and rivalries for the future.
